About Me
Hi, I’m Gabriel — a software engineer based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with over a decade of experience building backend systems at scale. My background is in Computer Science, and I’ve been working professionally since 2012, primarily focusing on backend architecture, infrastructure, and system reliability. More recently, I’ve been expanding into frontend and smart contract development, pursuing a broader, full-stack understanding of modern software systems.
I’m currently on sabbatical, taking time to deepen my expertise in blockchain development and explore what it takes to transition from engineer to “solopreneur”. This blog documents that journey — from technical deep dives to experiments in product building, crypto research, and reflections on independence, ownership, and long-term thinking.
I believe in building with leverage, staying close to the metal, and making bets on technologies that enable freedom. I’m especially drawn to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the broader promise of decentralized systems. Politically, I lean toward libertarian principles, with a strong belief in voluntary exchange, individual sovereignty, and the importance of uncensored financial infrastructure.
More than anything, this blog is a space to think in public — to write, test, and refine ideas that matter to me as a builder, a father, and someone committed to designing a life on my own terms.
